Noah Garrett
B.S., Indiana University of Pennsylvania (2021)
3rd Year Ph.D. student
Brief Bio
I am from State College, PA where I was homeschooled before I went to college at the Indiana University of Pennsylvania studying chemistry with a minor in math. There, I worked for Dr. Avijita Jain on bimetallic photoactive Ruthenium complexes. In 2019 I had the opportunity to study abroad in Spain and walk the Camino de Santiago, returning to complete a summer research program at IUP. In 2020 I interned with Pacific Northwest National Lab on a machine learning project. Because of my interests in coordination chemistry and energy, I joined the Rosi group at Pitt in 2021 where I study methods for fine-tuning the composition of multi-component MOFs. I enjoy making new materials in and out of the lab (wood/metal working) and my hobbies include cooking, homebrewing, running, photography, and spending time outside.
