Gefan He
B.S., Tsinghua University (2018)
3rd Year Ph.D. student
Brief Bio
I was born and raised in Shijiazhuang, China. In 2014 I went to Tsinghua University and majored in Chemistry. There, I joined Prof. Xun Wang’s group and worked on 2-D MoS2 nanosheets for electrocatalysis. I also synthesized chalcogenide nanocages based on MOF templates, and thus gained interest in reticular chemistry. In my senior year I interned in Prof. Chengde Mao’s group in Purdue University and worked on DNA origami. In 2021 I came to Pitt and joined the Rosi group. My research focuses on designing new MOFs with rod-shaped SBUs and exploring their special properties. Outside of the lab I enjoy playing online games, hiking and birdwatching.
